Our Founder’s Story

In 2018, I realized that the “standard” approach to infectious diseases needed to change. As an independent infectious diseases physician, my initial frustration was centered on patients waiting 4-6 weeks to get an appointment with me. That caused me to start to look at technology as a way to improve patient access to specialists, like me.

After adopting technology and improving our practice tech-stack, I realized that while tech-driven productivity gains were helpful – they wouldn’t move the needle enough to make seismic changes needed in my profession.

So, for a second time, I started looking for a better way.

As the number of newly minted infectious disease doctors was decreasing each year, I thought technology had to be a large part of any solution. I wondered if technology could overcome some of the barriers I noticed – such as limited access to ID professionals, ID professionals not able to work more at the “top of their license” and so on.

This latest journey introduced me to some of the brightest minds in technology and infectious diseases, and evolved my thinking to the present day strategy.

My vision is to dramatically change the “standard” medical approach to infectious diseases. The new direction our company is taking is innovative. Hopefully, we can all look back in a few years and witness a substantial improvement in ID care.
