Rich Weissmark
Operations Advisor
Rich Weissmark is the Chief Strategy Officer of MEDI-Weightloss, where he oversees organic growth, M&A strategy, product management, innovation, and eCommerce. He joined the company in 2024, bringing extensive experience in healthcare strategy, operations, and business transformation.
Prior to MEDI, Rich served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations at Gastro Health, where he played a key role in the company’s expansion from a single-state platform with 120 physicians to a seven-state organization with over 350 physicians and more than $650 million in revenue. His notable achievements at Gastro Health include:
Recapitalization Leadership: As part of the four-person deal team, he facilitated the 2021 recapitalization effort that transitioned ownership from Audax Private Equity to OMERS Private Equity.
Innovation in Clinical Analytics: Spearheaded the development and launch of a real-world evidence (RWE) business line, delivering advanced clinical analytics.
Operational Efficiency Through Automation: Led the introduction and deployment of a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program, significantly enhancing revenue cycle management efficiency and achieving an estimated 500% ROI through labor cost avoidance.
Before Gastro Health, Rich held multiple leadership positions at MEDNAX (now Pediatrix Medical Group, NYSE: MD), spanning operations, technology, and business transformation. During his tenure, the company grew from $600 million in revenue to over $3.4 billion, with its physician network expanding from 900 to more than 4,000.
Rich also has experience in academic medicine and professional services. At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, he served as Operations Director for the Telehealth program, overseeing the implementation and support of clinical telemedicine initiatives. Earlier in his career, at HSA International, he led digital product development, eCommerce initiatives, and technology operations.
Rich holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Barry University.
